Lisa Davies is recognised as one of the UK’s leaders in music promotion and media representation. She has over 40 years of experience and success developing new talent, breaking artists, and working with many of the biggest stars of all time.
In her role as Promotions Manager in the 1980s, Lisa masterminded and executed hugely successful promotions album campaigns for artists such as Michael Jackson namely ‘Thriller’ and ’ Bad’, The Jacksons, Abba, Wham!, Meat Loaf, George Michael, Sade, Men At Work, Survivor, Altered Images, Don Henley plus 23 consecutive Top 10 hits by Shakin’ Stevens. Her work contributed to Shaky becoming the best-selling singles artist of the 1980s. Prior to that, Lisa was Promotions Manager at Magnet Records, where she promoted artists such as Chris Rea, The Darts, Alvin Stardust, Matchbox and Bad Manners.
In the 1990s, following high recommendation from Hank Marvin and The Shadows’ management, Lisa was introduced to the legendary Sir Cliff Richard. Her first project for Sir Cliff was ‘The Millennium Prayer’. The release went to No. 1, sold 1.4 million copies, and became the biggest selling single by a British artist that year. Cliff was so impressed with her work and as a result marked the start of a massively successful 2+ decades of handling the promotion of Sir Cliff’s singles, albums, DVDs, books, and tours. Lisa forged a wonderful close working relationship with Sir Cliff, and he remains one of her all-time cherished artists and friends.
In the 2000’s, Lisa was one of the first PRs to successfully promote a string of million selling classical and cross-over/classical artists in the UK, including world renowned classical guitarist, John Williams, ‘cellist Julian Lloyd-Webber and violinist, Andre Rieu, Russell Watson, Hayley Westenra, Bryn Terfel, Alfie Boe, plus million selling album by Irish classical trio The Priests. Further success followed with Blake, Libera and Wynne Evans, the Go Compare tenor.
She also promoted Michael Ball’s biggest selling solo album ‘Movies’ and numerous more recent releases by the star. Lisa also promoted the James Horner film soundtrack album ‘Titanic’, which became the biggest selling movie soundtrack of all time. The company’s more current and recent No. 1 classical and crossover artists include Aled Jones, Sebastien Izambard (Il Divo), Rebecca Newman, Jonathan Antoine, Libera, Nicholas McCarthy, Melissa Alder, Blake, Joanna Forest, Royal classical composer, Olga Thomas, Eimear Quinn, Sarah Class, Jamie Lonsdale, Cormac, Robert Emery (our Founder) and Rodney Earl Clarke.
